  • Demystify & Deconstruct the backbend

    Dive deep into back bending with us. Enhance your understanding of back bends themselves. Learn the philosophy, the fundamentals and the anatomy of a back bend. Give yourself the knowledge to integrate these new skills all while learning to safely and confidently navigate the deep back bend.

    We will explore the equilibrium needed to maintain a happy, healthy yoga practice as well as a happy, healthy life. 

    One needs to dedicate to practice to reap the benefits in life, as does one need to dedicate to a healthy lifestyle to reap the benefits in yoga practice.

  • foundations of the build

    Learning the similarities in posture. Where one begins and the next will build. We will be traveling through primary and intermediate postures to find the commonalities. Learn the anatomical breakdown and how this then looks on our own shape. As we begin to understand the foundation and importance of one pose we can then relate these factors elsewhere in the practice. Creating a deeper understanding, greater compassion for self and when/ where to then challenge ourselves safely.

  • ignorance, knowledge, & wisdom

    We will learn the difference between living with ignorance, knowledge, and wisdom through the sutras and your yoga practice. We often go through these stages in every new asana we learn and through all stages of life. The key is our emotional reactions through these natural cycles.

This course is suitable for anyone curious, from a complete beginner to yoga to an advanced practitioner. You will have an in depth understanding of yoga & Ayurveda & given tools & practices to apply to your every day life for the rest of your life.

about the teachers

Olivier David first discovered the practice of Ashtanga Yoga in January of 2004. In 2009 Olivier started taking yearly trips to Mysore, India to deepen his practice at the source of Ashtanga Yoga with his teacher R Sharath Jois.

In 2009 he had the blessing and opportunity to start traveling and teaching all over the world. Sharing this amazing practice that has been passed down to him.

In 2015 he was Authorized Level 2 to teach the Ashtanga Yoga method by his Guruji R. Sharath Jois in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois & Sri T. Krishnamacharya.

In 2016 he had the honour and privilege to learn and assist his Guruji R. Sharath Jois and has since assisted in India with him several times. 

In 2018 he opened Ashtanga Yoga Sunshine Coast and ran daily mysore classes in the Noosa community and taught hundreds of students.

In 2024 he moved to Sydney and is running daily mysore classes at Om House in Bondi Beach.

Carrie Sobeck was granted Authorization Level 2 by Sharath Jois in 2018. She has assisted him in India several times since. She is a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and works 1:1 with patients treating various diseases & health concerns. She is an herbalist making all medications herself & leads panchakarma therapies here in Las Vegas. (For more info, check under “teachers” tab.)

Jennifer knox is an Authorized Level 2 teacher by Sharath Jois. She began her yoga journey in 2001 and has an in-depth understanding of anatomy from being a massage therapist, personal trainer, and yoga teacher for all of these years. She is co-owner to Mysore & Ayurveda Las Vegas along with Carrie. (For more info, check under “teachers” tab.)
